The place to find all Fristam Pumps USA published material: brochures, maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, etc.
The first Fristam stainless steel pump was manufactured in 1931 – from the very start in compliance with the individual requirements of our customers. Since then the success of Fristam has been based on three principles: Quality, Flexibility and Innovation.

A nutraceutical manufacturer, renowned for making premium supplements, vitamins, and other nutritional products, faced a daunting task: creating a COQ10 nano-emulsion for their turmeric supplement with an exact droplet size of 0.2 microns (200 nanometers).
To achieve this, they made a hefty investment in a high-pressure homogenizer, costing around $250,000. However once onsite, the engineers discovered that the homogenizer could not achieve the submicron particle size they required.
In search of a solution, they turned to their Fristam distributor who had previously supplied them with a Powder Mixer to premix the powders (Xanthan Gum, CoQ10 Powder, Polyglycerol monostearate, Potassium Sorbate and Sodium Benzoate), into liquid (MCT Oil, Water, and Liquid Sunflower Lecithin).
Given that the Fristam Powder Mixer had been so successful creating the semi-stable premix, the customer was persuaded to trial Fristam’s latest innovation, The FCM – Fristam Colloid Mixer. Designed to reduce droplets down to submicron particles, while still functioning as a product pump which is also adjustable (without disassembly) for CIP, this impressive piece of equipment can even be a viable alternative to homogenizers in many cases.
The engineers integrated the FCM into their production line, between the powder mixer and the homogenizer. As the FCM pumped the premix, it started to reduce the particle size down and create a preliminary emulsion for the high-pressure homogenizer. Re-testing the product after the FCM was installed, confirmed that the homogenizer, when used together with the FCM was now achieving its 0.2 microns droplet target! An added bonus of the FCM was that after pumping this product and reducing the particle size it was also able to fulfill CIP duties to self-clean, rather than being stripped down by engineers.
This unexpected synergy between the FCM and the high-pressure homogenizer transformed the production process and led to impressive outcomes. It not only resolved their production challenges but also propelled the company to the forefront of nano-emulsion manufacturing.
This success story underscores the importance of embracing innovation in the health supplement industry. By adopting new technologies such as the Fristam FCM Colloid Mixer, manufacturers can overcome obstacles and enhance their production processes to achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency and precision.
